I served in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Division between 1968 and 1969, receiving a Combat Infantryman’s Badge and a Bronze Star.

I am presently the Secretary of our Chapter and a Chapter Delegate. I have also held the posts of Chapter President, Second Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors – six years. I have been a New York State Delegate for eleven years and have attended five National Conventions and five Leadership Conferences.

As a member of Chapter 82, I have been to Walter Reed Hospital and three homeless stand downs. I also volunteer to drive to Northport VA Hospital for the Vets who cannot drive themselves. I go to the High Schools and Middle Schools in the area and lecture about our time in Vietnam. I am a crew-member of the Nassau County News on Public Access Television. Another of my endeavors is to run our Annual Picnic, Holiday Party and our annual Long Island Ducks game.

I have attended our Little Village School Party for 8 years. In the past I have run Member Merchandise for six years. While as President I was on the Committee for the first “Vietnam Wall Experience” at Eisenhower Park.

In my spare time I am the First Commander of VFW Post 3211 in Hicksville, where I run the Annual Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen essay contest for Hicksville’s Middle and High Schools.

I am a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, and attended Fordham University for two years as well as Long Island University in Brooklyn for one year.

After 32 years as a Boilermaker for Local #5, where I was Executive Board Member for six years, I have now retired. I am married to my wonderful wife Kath, and have 2 children.
